Undergraduate Research Assistant (Paid Position)

We are looking for a highly motivated undergraduate student to join the Simulation, Automation Trust, and Oculomotor Laboratory (SATO LAB) for Fall 2026 and Spring 2027. The selected student will be involved in a research project funded by Kansas NSF EPSCoR. The research project will examine human-automation interaction in Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) environment. 

Job Description 

  • Work 15 hours per week
  • Work 15 weeks per semester
  • Pay rate of $17.54 per hour

Responsibilities

  • Attend weekly lab meetings
  • Conduct literature review
  • Set up the experiment
  • Recruit participants
  • Collect and manage data

Minimum Qualification

  • Enrolled in Research Methods (PSY 311) or related course

  • Two semesters commitment (i.e., Fall 2026 and Spring 2027)

 

Desired Qualification

  • Completed Research Methods (PSY 311) or related course

  • Strong research interest in human factors psychology

  • Major in psychology, engineering, or related field

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above

Undergraduate Research Assistants (Unpaid Position)

We are actively looking for highly motivated undergraduate students to work as an undergraduate research assistant at the Simulation, Automation Trust, and Oculomotor Laboratory (SATO LAB). Undergraduate research assistants will assist in a research project (e.g., conducting literature review, collecting data, and coding data). Once students gain enough experience in our laboratory, they will have the opportunity to conduct independent research under the supervision of Dr. Sato.   • Strong research interest in human factors psychology.

  • Programming skills (e.g., R, Python, MatLab, C++).

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
